Turmeric

Turmeric
Turmeric, is a goldenrod-colored spice.   It is made from the root of the Curcuma Longa plant. Ever wonder where mustard gets its bight yellow color from – that’s right it is turmeric. Turmeric has been known in Asia and the Middle East for the past 5000 years.

Curcumin is a compound in turmeric that has potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Curcumin has been shown to help relieve pain of arthritis, injuries along with some dental procedures.   It’s also being studied for its potential in managing heart disease, diabetes and Alzheimer’s disease.   On the research side – they are determining its ability to help in colon, prostate and breast cancers. Preliminary studies have found that curcumin can inhibit tumor cell growth. More research will need to be done however this is all good news.

If you would like to add more turmeric to your diet you can either eat more curried food or take a supplement. Adding turmeric to your diet is one of the best moves you can make.

An excellent source of curcumin is Curcumin™ Extreme with BCM-95® .  It has superior bioavailability and absorption. BCM-95 contains the natural spectrum of the turmeric rhizome and is 100 percent natural.
